Dr. Kathryn A. Beckman, O.D.

 
Kathryn A. Beckman, O.D. has a B.S. in Biological Sciences from Sacramento State University, a B.S. in Physiological Optics from the University of California, Berkeley, and a Doctor of Optometry from the University of California, Berkeley School of Optometry. She has been in private practice since graduating in 1995, and started her own Lodi practice in 1997.

Dr. Beckman chose to practice in Lodi because of strong family ties to the community which date back six generations. Her husband is also a Lodi business owner.

Dr. Beckman was trained in primary eye care. She does very comprehensive eye examinations which include the refraction (determination of the prescription), a binocular vision and focusing evaluation, and a thorough health check. The office has specialized equipment which is state-of-the-art. In addition, Dr. Beckman has a special emphasis in fitting specialty contact lenses, managing laser vision correction, and pediatrics. She is also qualified to prescribe medications for eye infections or allergies, treat eye injuries, and treat dry eyes.

When appropriate, Dr. Beckman sends referrals to primary care physicians or specialists to treat systemic conditions detected during the eye examination, or to eye surgeons for treatment of eye diseases or surgery. Reports are also sent to school nurses and/or teachers regarding vision problems detected in children.
